Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) is a degenerative spinal disorder common in certain dog breeds. Associated with debilitating pain and significantly impaired movement, this disease greatly diminishes quality of life in affected patients. With no cure, early detection and treatment are key to effective disease management.

In this free webinar, organized by Multi Radiance Dr. Torraca explores a multimodal approach to diagnosing and managing IVDD patients. Attendees will learn how to use infrared thermal imaging to proactively detect thermal abnormalities consistent with IVDD. Dr. Torraca then shares how to use these findings to guide diagnostics, and increase client compliance with recommended tests, for earlier detection. Dr. Torraca also shares conservative and surgical treatment approaches (for both upper and lower motor neuron cases) with a focus on laser therapy as an effective, non-invasive option for reducing pain and improving mobility.

Key learning points of the presentation:

  • Symptoms, diagnosis, and impact of IVDD.
  • Using thermal imaging to proactively screen for IVDD (and other neurologic conditions).
  • Surgical intervention cost and recovery considerations.
  • Advantages of laser therapy and which photoceutical device to use.
  • Multimodal approaches to assist both upper and lower motor neuron IVDD cases.
  • Maximizing treatment benefits with at-home care plans.
